Stephen Ministry

“Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2)

Stephen Ministry is a one-to-one lay caring ministry that takes place in congregations. Stephen Ministry congregations equip and empower lay caregivers—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting. Their support is meaningful through life events such as divorce, grief, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, as well as other.

Stephen Ministry is grounded in Jesus’ command to love one another. Through one-to-one caring relationships, those who are hurting receive the love and care they need to support them.

Stephen Ministers receive 50 hours of training and continuing education to provide distinctively Christian care. Our Stephen Ministers meet with their leaders monthly for confidential, ongoing supervision and continuing education. Stephen Ministers are matched men with men and women with women.
