Are you interested in joining Highland Presbyterian Church?
People join the church to experience an on-going engagement of faith in community. The only prerequisite is a desire to trust God and grow in faith. Membership does not require someone to have everything figured out, but it is a commitment to grow and experience faith in community.
If you want to explore joining Highland, here are two different opportunities:
New Member Classes – Offered quarterly on a Saturday or Sunday, these classes explore what it means to belong as a member of Highland Presbyterian Church. It is an opportunity to ask questions and connect with other church members. The focus is to learn what it means to be a member of the church. There is an opportunity to join the church the consecutive or following Sunday.
Discover Highland – This is an informal conversation over coffee that happens throughout the year in the Fellowship Hall. Here you’ll learn more about life at Highland Presbyterian Church. Members share their experiences, what they value, and share the various ways to experience the church. Even if you have already joined, consider coming to a Discover Highland conversation. No pressure, just conversation. And at the end of conversation, we take a helpful tour of the church campus.
Joining Highland Presbyterian Church
After participating in a new member class, those who wish to join do so on a Sunday morning. People joining are introduced to Session elders and after learning about one another; new members are formally received into the church. Then in worship, new members are introduced to the congregation and offered a special blessing and welcome by the ministers.
People may join the church in one of three ways:
- Profession of Faith and Baptism (for people who are not baptized)
- Reaffirmation of Faith (for people not currently active in another church)
- Letter of Transfer (for people who are active members of another church)
