In January, the Adult Education Committee is continuing the after worship lunch format for a winter-spring program focused on Racial / Cultural Reconciliation and Justice.
On Sunday the 14th, Dr. Lewis Brogdon, Provost, Simmons College of Kentucky and author of “Hope on the Brink: Understanding the Emergence of Nihilism in Black America” will be preaching in morning worship and then lecturing at 12:15. Lunch will be provided. Donations requested.
Then, on January 28, Highland Pres in cooperation with Westminster John Knox Press, will host John Pavlovitz at 3:00 pm in the afternoon as he speaks about his new book: A Bigger Table – Building Messy, Authentic and Hopeful Spiritual Community. The presentation will be in the Sanctuary.
Children in 3rd-5th grades are invited for a lock-in January 12th-13th. Tweens from all over the state will be here as we celebrate the Holy Spirit! We will begin at 5:00 Friday the 12th and end Saturday morning at 9:30. Cost for the event is $20 (which includes your t-shirt). Please get your $20 to Doodle by January 2nd. A packing list will be given to those registered.

6:00 – Trivia Questions begin. $10 gets you in! $1 each for tickets once you are through the door! Tickets can be used for slices of pizza, drinks, and opportunities for extra prizes! No Chili this year!

(Babysitting is limited to children 2nd grade and younger). We’ll also have a “Tween” Table for children 3rd-5th grade, a “youth” table for our youth who want to play, and a “college” table. All money raised goes to youth summer trips.
Join us Sunday, December 17th at 9:30 (during regular Sunday School time) for a Pancake Breakfast for all HPC children and families! Children should go to their Sunday School class first, then walk down to breakfast together. Breakfast is provided by the Senior High Sunday School Class!
