Advent Season Celebrations

FAMILY WORSHIP SERVICE AND CHRISTMAS PAGEANT – Please join the children of HPC and their families for our annual Family Worship Service and Christmas Pageant!  We’ll be in the Fellowship Hall at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 17th.  A Reception will follow in the Dining Room.  If you are able, we also invite you to bring cookies to the dining room just before the pageant begins.

CHRISTMAS CAROLING AND LAS POSADAS WORSHIP – Join us for Christmas Caroling on Tuesday, December 19. We will gather in the church parking lot at 6pm and walk around the block singing carols led by Edward Carruthers, ending up back at church. There, Cynthia Campbell and David Gambrell will lead a brief service which commemorates Mary and Joseph’s search for an inn in Bethlehem. The brief worship ends as the “innkeeper” welcomes us in for cookies and hot chocolate. This will last about one hour and will be a fun family activity as we anticipate Christmas.

LONGEST NIGHT SERVICE – Highland Presbyterian will again offer a Longest Night service of prayer, reflection and music on Thursday, December 21, at 6:30 p.m. While everyone is welcome at this service, it is especially meant for those for whom Advent and Christmas may not be a cheerful time. Many among us do not feel they can fully engage in festive times due to illness, loss of a loved one, a broken relationship, concerns for the world, or other personal circumstances. Come and be held close by your family of faith, and surrounded by the compassionate love of God.

DECEMBER 24TH – There will be multiple services on Christmas Eve 24th. We hope you join us for many, or all, of these services.
11:00am – One worship service – 4th Sunday of Advent
4:30pm – Lessons and Carols with Brass, Percussion, and Organ
8:00pm – Candlelight Communion Service with Strings, Harp, and Organ
11:00pm – Youth and College-led Candlelight Communion Service
