Nye / Ham Debate

The next session of the Faith in the Real World Class will be facilitated by Tom Howell. Together we will engage the debate between Bill Nye, former host of the series Bill Nye the Science Guy, and Ken Ham, founder and chief executive officer of the Young Earth Creationist ministry. Their debate focused on the question “Is Creation A Viable Model of Origins?” and was held February 4, 2014, at the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky. Ham challenged Nye to the debate after taking exception to a YouTube video featuring Nye lamenting the refusal of a large segment of the U.S. population to accept the theory of evolution. Tickets to the event sold out within minutes and according to a Christian public relations firm an estimated 3 million people viewed the event live via video streams on the Internet. The Faith in the Real World Sunday morning class will view and discuss portions of the televised debate. Come see what everybody has been talking about.

The class will take place on Sundays January 11 & 18 and on February 1 at 9:30am. If you are interested in watching in advance or need catch up on a session here is the video and the schedule.
